It's likely you've heard about the It Gets Better Project, an extraordinary and powerful initiative created on YouTube to show the young LGBT community that post-adolescence holds many wonderful possibilities and opportunities to experience the joys and sorrows of life free from hate, oppression, violence and fear. The It Gets Better Project has grown beyond its creators' expectations with over 40,000 It Gets Better user created videos and over 40 million views, but wait... It Gets Better. Chris Verdugo, Executive Director of the Gay Men's Chorus in Los Angeles, wants to take It Gets Better on the road.
Chris and his team have started an initiative to raise money on Kickstarter to bring the It Gets Better Theater Project to local communities around the country, inspiring LGBT teens and their friends and families in their very own backyard. I am a proud supporter of this project and it's message to not only the world's youth, but all of us. To be reminded to love, respect, and accept others for who and what they are will always be a warm and welcome sentiment. Please watch the video and click here to learn more about the It Gets Better Theater Project and if you can, please make a donation or share it with your friends and family to help them reach their goal. There are only a few days left and every dollar counts!
